The Stockholm University of the Arts conducts unique teaching and research in the areas of circus, dance, opera, theatre, film and media. Currently, the university operates in five different locations. Bringing everything under one roof will play a critical role in creating an attractive teaching and research environment in which the various disciples can inspire one another and develop.
The start of construction is planned for the spring of 2026. Once the building is complete, it will house the school's 500 students and 250 employees and doctoral students. The building will consist of about 200 rooms, including two large theatres, two cinemas, film studios, and a circus hall with a ceiling height of 13 meters.
The 20-year rental agreement covers around 20,000 m2 NRA. In addition, almost 6,000 m2 NRA in external office premises will be created at the top of the building, and there will be a restaurant covering approximately 300 m2 NRA on the ground floor. The new block has a total letting area of over 27,000 m2 and an annual rental value of about 134 million SEK, excluding surcharges, and that includes the estimated indexation leading up to the move-in date. Once the premises have been let, the property’s economic letting rate will be almost 71%. The project is scheduled to be completed in its entirety in 2030 and the investment is estimated at just over two billion SEK.
